NCK All Stars in Concordia

The NCK High School Basketball All-Star Games were held in Concordia at Arley Bryant Gymnasium at Cloud County Community College on Sunday.  Many area participants stepped on the court for both the girls and boys games.

In the girls game, the Gold Team won behind a balanced scoring effort, 76-70.  Jayna Smith of Holton and Saren Hobelmann of Republic County led the way with 14 points each.  For the Black Team, two players were in double figures, both from Smith Center, as Tangie Hileman finished with 24, 15 in the first half, and McKenzie Benoit added 16.  Hileman was named the MVP for the Gold, while Smith took the Defensive MVP for the Black.

In the boys game, the Blue Team snuck by the Grey Team, 87-83, led by Reid Blackburn of Hanover with 15 points.  Jacob Froese of Ellsworth was named the Defensive MVP of the game from the Blue Team.  Jacob Broxterman of Frankfort took the Offensive MVP honors as he led the Grey Team and all scorers with 20 points, including 12 in the first half.
